I have an IBM Netvista 8301-52U that continues to display the error message: ERROR 00CE Machine Type & Serial Number are Invalid! I went to the Lenovo site and downloaded the latest/greatest BIOS using the Phoenix Tech BIOS update utility.and I see in the advanced settings that one can change the DMI to update the BIOS but not DMI. Game Maker Text Box Engineering there. and a few other options. I see the place where you can edit but is the 'Product ID' the same as MT-M? I did try to put in the S/N in the appropriate and it took but obviously still doesn't validate.

My other question is in the drop down menu where it says: update the BIOS but not DMI update the DMI but not the BIOS update the BIOS and DMI (preserve DMI) update the BIOS and DMI (renew DMI) I'd hate to exacerbate the issue so which one should I choose? Thanks in advance!
